Under the Official Health Insurance Act, every Israeli resident is insured with health insurance.

Every 18-year-old resident of Israel is required to pay a health insurance fee to the National Insurance Institute with national insurance fees, except for a housewife (a married woman who does not work and her husband is a believer).

Every believer is required to be registered in a patient's box and may choose the sick fund to which he wishes to be an associate. The sick fund needs to provide the insured with a standard basket of health services defined by law.

The payments of national insurance and health insurance fees are calculated according to the rate of income that the insured owns from work which is not from work, as well as according to the situation in which he decided:

    A hired worker
    Self employed
Who does not work at all
